Who is your favorite NB band of all time? Doesn't matter how long they were a band or how many songs they put out.

For me I think it might be Et Tu Brute. I saw them play at the Shipyard of all places in the mid 2000's and they changed everything for me. I absolutely played their demo out for a year or two afterwords.

Close runner up would be xfilesx. I never saw them, but excruciation is my favorite hardcore record of all time. TVHC is the only hardcore I like.

More recently I think Divorcees was the last NB band that I went out of my way to see.

Good call. Some absolute bangers on those records. "Bricks and Paint" is unreal.

Safe / typical answer but deff A Wilhelm Scream. I remember seeing them right when I first started going to shows and just falling in love with the sound / energy / etc. Been going to shows / listening to the music for 14 years or something at this point.

Besides that I'd have to say The Thrift Syndicate. I remember seeing them at the Westport Annex and just being pretty blown away. Eventually became friends with all those dudes and wicked good group of guys / and the music is killer. Bummer they broke up shortly after the full length came out. Mad good memories: farewell show w/ LastFALL in Fairhaven, Record release @ New Wave etc.

Honorable mention: LastFALL / Torn By Law for multiple reasons.

Thrift has a special spot in my heart as well - they played the first local show I ever went to and it kind of inspired me to want to be in a band.

I literally just found my So Automatic 3 song demo yesterday when I was digging through some old stuff. So good. They literally sound like New Bedford feels.

Nope! That's my real answer. I didn't care for the early stuff but their last 2 recordings were great.

Jcamps I'll get it to you at some point! Got it from Adam. I also have the tape by the band before Broken Chrome. They were called Sonic Trauma. Same songs as the Broken Chrome demo, different singer. Going to rip that soon.

Yea a couple from when I was just getting into the swing of things was def all chrome, freedom force, capture the flag, and whackin Isaiah. But if I had to pick a favorite, one that I still kinda look up to and enjoy then it'd be intent to injure. A band that for me is THE true band I think of when I think New Bedford Hardcore. Another sick band that'll always have my respect is Gluons. Ron poitras' (sound guy from new wave and runs feedback studios) band from I believe late 70s/early 80s. Dark goth, post-punk stuff. Listening to the record today it legit still sounds fresh. What a special little nugget of talent New Bedford is eh?

I've never heard of intent to injure or gluons. Any way we can get some songs uploaded? When was intent to injure around?

Yea I have the gluons lp I could rip when I'm not super lazy. ITI was mid-late 80s I believe, you might be able to find a download. They got three 7s and a comp track. Actually did a quick google inquiry and I think this has a link to all the shit http://justifiedarrogance.blogspot.com/ ... e.html?m=1

You also might enjoy Blue Hollow which was the same band after the Gluons. Sounds more focused and new wave-y, less punk than gluons. I think you can find that online I did a while ago http://youtu.be/NJxS-XTPY2o

So Automatic was always a big favorite of mine. But i would have to say that xfilesx had the most influence on me. Helped get into other bands, like Close Call and Think I care.
